Do I really need a custodian-of-records?
Yes — 18 U.S.C. §2257(e) requires it for any visual depiction of actual sexually-explicit conduct produced after 1995. The custodian's name + business address must appear on the website. Our custodian-as-a-service substitutes our US-licensed custodian's address for yours.
What if records were not properly kept before?
Best move: start now. §2257 enforcement is per-record-going-forward — auditors look at records that should exist for content currently published. Migrate the records you can verify; sunset content where records are missing.
Where is the vault hosted?
AWS us-east-1 by default (FBI inspections prefer US-soil). EU-hosted option available for EU operators serving non-US markets. Records never replicate cross-region without explicit operator consent.
Pricing?
$199/mo Standard (up to 5K performer IDs), $499/mo Pro (unlimited performers + custodian-as-a-service), $1999/mo Enterprise (private vault tenant + SLA-backed audit response). All include encrypted storage, audit export, 7-year retention.
Is the custodian indemnification real?
Yes — $5M E&O coverage per platform. Excludes operator-side knowing violations (e.g., underage performer where operator knew). Documented in the custodian agreement.
